Case Study: Comparator Sourcing & Procurement

Sourcing a Leading Oncology Therapy Through a Strategic Batch-Hunting Process

Full EU Visibility. One Supplier. Zero Duplicates.

The Challenge

In preparation for a future clinical trial, a client needed to carry out analytical work spanning 10-12 batches of a leading branded oncology therapy from the EU. With batches surfacing unpredictably across different markets, the challenge was to secure enough of them in the shortest possible time, without duplicating effort or risking the same batch twice.

Our Approach

To meet this challenge, Tanner used its visibility across all EU markets to set up a dedicated batch-hunting project, securing each new batch as soon as it appeared in any EU market. Stock was consolidated into a limited number of deliveries to the end client, reducing logistics costs along the way.

The client received all batches from a single supplier in the shortest possible time, avoiding the coordination burden and duplicate-batch risk of managing multiple suppliers. With one point of receipt across multiple countries, shipments could be combined at three batches at a time, cutting transport costs further.
