Tanner Team Rallies to Support Colombia Earthquake Relief

On August 10, a devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Colombia, leaving many communities in urgent need of support. For Tanner, the response wasn't just a matter of corporate goodwill, it was personal.

Working closely with the Colombo-American Chamber of Commerce of the Carolinas, Margarita Chala, Chair of the TannerCares Committee and a proud Colombian herself, moved quickly to identify the most urgently needed items and launch a donation drive across the company.

The response from Tanner employees was immediate. Team members donated nearly $950 worth of essential supplies, which TannerCares proudly matched dollar for dollar. Together, the Tanner team and TannerCares provided roughly $3,500 worth of essential goods to support those affected by the disaster.

But the impact went well beyond what was donated. When word came that the local collection center in Charlotte urgently needed volunteers, our team didn't hesitate — they showed up in person to help sort, pack, and prepare aid for shipment.

That hands-on effort paid off in a big way. The Charlotte relief drive originally set out to fill 40 pallets of aid. Thanks to the generosity of the community, that goal was more than doubled — an incredible 88 pallets packed and ready to ship to Colombia.

It's a powerful reminder of what's possible when a company's values show up in action, not just intention. TannerCares, and the people behind it, continue to prove that giving back is woven into who we are.
