Tanner's Take on Swiss Biotech Day
Swiss Biotech Day once again proved why it has become one of Europe’s most influential life sciences gatherings. With more than 3,000 biotech and pharma leaders from nearly 50 countries, 130+ exhibitors, and 25 international delegations, the conversations in Basel reflected the scale, complexity, and opportunity shaping our industry today.
For our Global Access and Clinical Trial Supply teams, this year’s discussions closely mirrored the realities our partners face every day. Panels exploring speed to clinic across global regions, regulatory collaboration in public–private partnerships, and operational maturity from strategy to execution reinforced a clear takeaway: innovation only delivers impact when execution keeps pace.
This was a forum defined by partnership in practice. Conversations around designing the next generation of biotech partnerships, strengthening cross‑border ecosystems, and turning clinical trial data into strategic advantage underscored the growing need for models that reduce friction across development, supply, and access pathways.
Clinical operations and supply were front and center as well. Sessions on global clinical trial perspectives, digital endpoint strategies, and AI in development emphasized a move from trial-and-error to practical implementation. This is where we see smarter designs, resilient supply chains, and data-driven decisions improve timelines and patient access.
Collaboration has shifted from being a “nice to have” to a strategic imperative. Industry leaders consistently emphasized that shared expertise and aligned execution are vital for de-risking development and broadening global access, especially as the field grows more complex and interconnected.
As global programs grow more complex and patient populations more diverse, success will increasingly depend on how well clinical trial supply, access strategies, regulatory alignment, and data infrastructure work together. Events like Swiss Biotech Day remind us that when the right partners come to the table early, innovation moves faster, and impact travels further.
We’re proud to have our Access and CTS teams in Basel, contributing to these conversations and strengthening the partnerships that move our industry forward.
